Duluth Tall Ships 2010: Roseway Sailing Under Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge in 1080P HD
The Schooner Roseway sailing through Duluth Harbor, under the Aerial Lift Bridge, and onto Lake Superior on July 31, 2010. Roseway was one of the vessels visiting Duluth as part of Tall Ships Challenge 2010 race. As she makes her way under the bridge, you’ll catch a glimpse of another tall ship, Denis Sullivan entering the harbor. This video of Roseway under sail was shot in 1080p High Definition with a Kodak Zi8, on board the Vista Fleet’s Vista Star.

Duluth Cargo Ship goes under Aerial Lift Bridge
Walter J. McCarthy Jr. was named after the newly retired Chairman of the Board of Detroit Edison on May 25,1990. This vessel is used almost exclusively to carry low sulfur western coal from the Superior Midwest Energy Terminal in Superior, WI to the Detroit Edison Belle River Power Plant at St. Clair, MI (Recor Point). She occasionally delivers this low sulfur coal to Detroit Edison in Monroe, MI and also carries the odd spot load of taconite pellets. The McCarthy is capable of carrying such other cargoes as limestone and grain.

This video shows a friend of mine waterskiing under the aerial lift bridge in Duluth. There was some swearing when he realized that we were going through the bridge. And there is still a healty debate as to the legality. We started out skiing on Lake Superior and went into the harbor.
