An idea was posted to rent an Aerial lift bucket, but prices aren’t good enough. Cheap filming, but all the better to learn how to be creative. Any ideas?

Besides the usual, like license,credit cards and family pictures, what unusual things do you have in your wallet?

I have a blue card certify that I am trained to use aerial lift truck.
I have a scuba diving card.
I also have a CPR card that I renew every few years.

What do you have?

I have a robotic application for which I need my mechanism to raise about 10′ in the air. The weight requirement does not allow for any aerial lift designed for a person to stand on. Does anyone make lifts designed to be ‘lightweight’ or designed to life something lighter than a person? Thanks in advance.

If you’re in an aerial lift, and it tips over, should you try to hold on to the bucket, try to jump clear, or what? What is the industry best standard?

Machines are widely used in different areas. The aerial lift is useful equipment for construction workers, industrial or warehouse employees, electricians and even painters. It conveniently helps them to reach higher places without the hassle of going up and down a ladder. But the use of this kind of equipment can be dangerous to the employees especially when safety regulations are not followed. It is evident on reports on injuries on the different workers and also damage on several property of the company.

If you do not want an incident like for instance an accidental falling of the things on the lift causing those below the ground to suffer head injury to happen, as an operator you must be able to follow the safety regulations before, during and after the use of this kind of equipment. You must remember that for all types of Aerial-Lift that you operate, safety must be your priority. You must not only think of your safety but also to your co-workers and the property of the site where you are working.

Before the operation of platform lifts, as a worker, you must have a checklist of what you need to check before you start your work. This will include emergency equipments and also the safety parts whether they are available. You must also run a physical inspection on the parts so that you will fix some damages before you actually operate it. Also check the area whether there are hazards that will cause trouble while you drive the lift.

While operating the Aerial-Lift, you must make sure of your safety and also those of the other workers in the site. You must prevent injuries by looking at where you are going and slowly operating the machine. Do not rush on your work so that you will know where you are headed. Also follow safety measures to prevent electrocution especially when you are working on some electric wiring or fixing some electric posts.

After you have operated the equipment on the area, your post-operative safety regulations must include making a report of what you have experienced during the duration of the operation. If you were able to see some faults while using it, you must be able to report it to your supervisor so that he will be able to find a solution to the problem immediately. Try to suggest also other ways wherein you can really ensure your safety and that of the other workers in the area.

As an operator, you must also follow the regulations set by OSHA or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They require you to check the controls first before you operate. Safety measures must be followed like putting on your seatbelt as an operator. There are other specific methods that you must follow and since you are certified to do it, you already have the knowledge about these regulations.

These are the things that you have to do before, during and after you operate an aerial lift. You must be able to follow them appropriately to avoid any accidents that can lead to serious injuries and even death.
