Machines are widely used in different areas. The aerial lift is useful equipment for construction workers, industrial or warehouse employees, electricians and even painters. It conveniently helps them to reach higher places without the hassle of going up and down a ladder. But the use of this kind of equipment can be dangerous to the employees especially when safety regulations are not followed. It is evident on reports on injuries on the different workers and also damage on several property of the company.

If you do not want an incident like for instance an accidental falling of the things on the lift causing those below the ground to suffer head injury to happen, as an operator you must be able to follow the safety regulations before, during and after the use of this kind of equipment. You must remember that for all types of Aerial-Lift that you operate, safety must be your priority. You must not only think of your safety but also to your co-workers and the property of the site where you are working.

Before the operation of platform lifts, as a worker, you must have a checklist of what you need to check before you start your work. This will include emergency equipments and also the safety parts whether they are available. You must also run a physical inspection on the parts so that you will fix some damages before you actually operate it. Also check the area whether there are hazards that will cause trouble while you drive the lift.

While operating the Aerial-Lift, you must make sure of your safety and also those of the other workers in the site. You must prevent injuries by looking at where you are going and slowly operating the machine. Do not rush on your work so that you will know where you are headed. Also follow safety measures to prevent electrocution especially when you are working on some electric wiring or fixing some electric posts.

After you have operated the equipment on the area, your post-operative safety regulations must include making a report of what you have experienced during the duration of the operation. If you were able to see some faults while using it, you must be able to report it to your supervisor so that he will be able to find a solution to the problem immediately. Try to suggest also other ways wherein you can really ensure your safety and that of the other workers in the area.

As an operator, you must also follow the regulations set by OSHA or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They require you to check the controls first before you operate. Safety measures must be followed like putting on your seatbelt as an operator. There are other specific methods that you must follow and since you are certified to do it, you already have the knowledge about these regulations.

These are the things that you have to do before, during and after you operate an aerial lift. You must be able to follow them appropriately to avoid any accidents that can lead to serious injuries and even death.

For different types of aerial lifts, you must have the knowledge on how to operate it safely. You must think of your welfare and that of the other workers by following safety regulations on its operation. Click http://aerial-lift.org/ to find out more about it.

Inspections of Aerial Boom Lift machines and pre shift check up routines are very important. The issue on security is a continuing responsibility to everybody implicated in the performance of aerial piece of equipment especially the boom lift. An inspection must be done during the purchase of the equipment and every time the equipment is used.

The operator must take some minutes to examine the machine and every safety functions to ensure that everything is in good condition. This is very necessary because aerial equipment is extremely hazardous if not properly used. Every time a worker is up to operating the equipment, the possibility of accident is increased.

The best means to prevent accidents is to inspect the Aerial Boom Lift . Initially, begin to check up the engine. Check the level, color and smell of the oil. Check if the oil looks dirty and thick or if it smells fresh. You to have put in mind always that a watery or milky coloring in water-cooled part can be an indication of leakage in the head gasket, or any further cooling problem. Examine the wiring also, if they are in the right connections, you can set up the engine. Make sure that you test every engine function, and ensure that the piece of equipment runs from both upper and lower controls.

Next, check the hydraulic drive and valve body and also check if there any leaks. You have to check also if there are any cracks, kinks and leakages in the hoses and the fitting of the hose. If you check the functions of the machine, you have to listen if there are noises which come from the hydraulic scheme.

Aerial boom lifts are susceptible to cracks in the pivot areas because of the implausible loads placed in these points. Check cautiously the places wherein the arms of the boom come together, and where the bushings and pins are utilized. These are highly pressured areas; be sure to check if they have cracks or unusual wear. Test out if the rails have no cracks, not broken or not bent. Make sure also that the basket connection has no cracks; the bolts are complete and no obvious troubles.

Another important thing is to test out the assembly of turret. When the basket is off the ground, just move gently the basket side to side and check the free motion of the principal turret gear or the slue ring. There must be a few movement but limited to six up to ten degrees only.

Finally, inspect the helms. Ensure that the arrangement of the helms look accurate and the haul nuts are tight. Inspect also the safety switches of the machine. Make sure to test out all functions to make sure of the accurate operation of every component and in order to confirm that all unit works smoothly and in safe manner for protection of the operator of the equipment. Always check for the safety manual in the safe and proper functioning of the equipment before you purchase the piece of equipment.

With a tight turning radius and compact size, it gives them maximum manoeuvrability making them ideal for difficult environments, such as between racking and in a crowded environment. These platforms can therefore be moved and operated by one person.

Using these units can replace the need of ladders, steps, kick stools allowing easier access to awkward places, fitting through standard doors and into lifts, whilst enabling the user to work safely and concentrate on the job.

Midland Pallet Trucks keep 3 size options in stock, all designed for a single person with a 240kg capacity. all units are supplied with a 12 month LOLER certificate to comply with all necessary regulations. They are supplied with an incorporated mains charger with battery charge indicator, a levelling indicator and outriggers.

These Aerial work platforms also come supplied with emergency down and stop buttons, with height adjustment at the touch of a button, so saving time and effort.

An Aerial Device or Elevating Work Platform is a mechanical device used to provide temporary access for people or equipment to inaccessible areas, usually at height.

They are generally used for temporary, flexible access purposes such as maintenance and construction work or by fire fighters for emergency access, which distinguishes them from permanent access equipment such as elevators. They are designed to lift limited weights (usually less than a ton, although some have a higher safe working load), distinguishing them from most types of cranes. They are usually capable of being fully operated (including set up) by a single person.

Regardless of the task they are used for, aerial work platforms may provide additional features beyond transport and access, including being equipped with electrical outlets or compressed air connectors for power tools. They may also be equipped with specialist equipment, such as carrying frames for window glass.

There are several distinct types of aerial work platforms, which all have specific features which make them more or less desirable for different applications. The key difference is in the drive mechanism that propels the working platform to the desired location. Most are powered by either hydraulics or possibly pneumatics. The different techniques also reflect in the pricing and availability of each type.

Aerial devices were once exclusively operated by hydraulic pistons, powered by diesel or gasoline motors on the base unit. Lightweight electrically powered units are gaining popularity for window-cleaning or other maintenance operations, especially indoors and in isolated courtyards, where heavier hydraulic equipment cannot be used. Aerial devices are the closest in appearance to a crane- consisting of a number of jointed sections, which can be controlled to extend the lift in a number of different directions, which can often include ‘up and over’ applications.

Work Platforms are fitted with safety or guardrails around the platform itself to contain operators and passengers. This is supplemented in most models by a restraining point, designed to secure a harness or fall arrestor. Some work platforms also have a lip around the floor of the platform itself to avoid tools or supplies being accidentally kicked off the platform. Some protocols require all equipment to be attached to the structure by its own lanyard.
